SUNDAY MARKET STALLHOLDERS

How great it is to see so many stall holders turning up to the Sanson Market these days. Hopefully you all
remembered Daylight Saving time ok and adjusted clocks to suit.
This newsletter is to remind you of a few housekeeping items.
The first is that stallholders are to be on site by 7-30am unless prior arrangements have been made, (we want
to avoid vehicles moving inside the market when it’s open). This not mean it’s ok to phone or text in and
assume it will be ok. Also commonsense is called for when arriving or leaving the market as we, the way it
was told to me anyway, had a case of a stallholder backing out of their spot almost into another vehicle that
was also leaving.
One point to remember for those of you who sell foodstuffs is to have your relevant certificates on display in
view of the public. One never knows when the health people are going to come through. If foodstuffs are
being sold without relevant certifications that particular stallholder could quite well be shut down for the day
and not permitted back until certs are sighted. Persistent breaches could also bring a hefty penalty of the
stallholder.
For those of you wanting information on weather conditions (forget the forecasts) can phone or txt Mike after
6.30am Sunday mornings.
To ensure you stand the best chance of having a stall at the market bookings are now imperative, especially
during the summer months. To book a site please email the organizer no later than 5.00 Saturday night on
mailto:sansonmarket@gmail.com?subject=market enquiries
Or ring Mike on (06) 355 3718 or 027 450 5646 as early in the week as possible, no later than 7.00 pm
Saturday night (phone calls stand a good chance of not being answered after these times and e-mail might
be too late to catch the booking sheet. If you need to cancel please do so as early as possible. If you just turn
up on the day without a booking there is a good chance a site may not be available. The earlier in the week
you book the better the chance you have of getting a higher profile site, you can always cancel if need be.
Stall holders are requested to NOT leave their goods or Rubbish in the Building or grounds. Please remove
ALL RUBBISH about your site at the end of the day. It is the stallholders responsibility to remove all the
own rubbish. There is a bin inside the café for food wrappings etc but cartons and the like have also been left
behind.
Recently all our no dog signs have been revamped and increased in number, we now have four. They are
being used, as it is a requirement from the environmental (Health) officer of the M.D.C. as dogs are not
permitted on site due to the foodstuffs being sold at the market. It makes me wonder about some people when
they walk their dogs through the food sites.
Applications are now being called for funding from Sanson Community Organizations. Criteria and
application forms can be obtained by contacting Del on the number below.
At present the market committee members are
James 329 3722 Mike & Heather (06) 355 3718
Ross 329 3844 Del 329 3674
Sally 329 3823 Kristie 3293 383
