As gardening season moves into full swing, you might have seen
our post on
using hydrogen peroxide to speed up germination times for
slow-to-germinate seeds like celery or peppers.
We've been having a lot of fun expanding our experimentation this
year with hydrogen peroxide in the greenhouse.
Of course, we had a good laugh at ourselves when our speeded up
germination worked so well that our 'succession seeding' of celery
ended up all being ready to plant out at the same time as our
first planting which had been started a whole MONTH earlier! Now
the only question was where to put all these plants?! Left little
doubt about how well it worked, though.
We've also been having a blast with Les and Jane's gardening
secrets; learning the detailed specifics of ideas we'd heard
of but never really known how to try - and we are doing a lot
less gardening work than in years past spent weeding and tilling
until our backs and knees were all ready to go on strike.
If you've ever wondered how you could enjoy the benefits of vegetable
gardening without all the hard work, we can tell you, Les and
Jane have it totally wired.
And now they've added the coolest new book - Secrets of Organic
Tomato gardening. This suits me just fine as garden fresh tomatoes
are practically the reason I started gardening in the first place
all those years ago. Just cannot get enough of those juicy plump
delicious fruits.
Rather than telling you about their new Organic Tomato Secrets,
I thought you should be able to see for yourself - so Les and
Jane have put up the whole first chapter for your reading pleasure!
You'll find it front and center on their gardening
secrets page; just follow the link that says "Read the
first Chapter of Organic Tomato Secrets" when you get to
their page.
These guys really know what they are talking about, and we are
having a great time implementing the 'less work' gardening secrets
we've learned from them.
Hope you're off to a great growing season!
We sure are! Biggest and best garden we've ever planted and that
makes the 'no work' part even more amazing to us!
We'll be posting more updates on the website as the season progresses
- including our H2O2 uses with our chickens - great addition to
their drinking water for healthy happy layers.
To your best growing season ever in 2012!
Sincerely,
Becky
