MARCH 2006
How time marches on! We are now into Autumn and it hasn't come too
soon for me.
I am heartily sick of the hot weather and look forward to the cooler
days. Those of you who are connected to the town water supply will
have been able to keep gardens watered during this very warm dry
weather.
DOGS!
You may have noticed the Dog Ranger around the village quite frequently
lately. This is in response to many complaints about roaming dogs.
Dog owners need to be aware that dogs wandering onto farm land and
harassing farmer's stock may be shot forthwith. One resident was
very disturbed to lose a kitten and all that remained of it was
a pile of fur and the tip of it's tail. As we have said many times
before most of our dog owners are responsible but one or two of
these half starved animals that menace people going about their
lawful business are in danger of being trapped by the ranger and
put down. And some of us say the sooner the better!!! So those of
you who are guilty PLEASE keep your animals confined to your own
back yard.We do not want to report a tragedy. To lose a kitten is
bad enough and who knows next time it could be a child.
NEW RESIDENTS.
With all the new housing going up in the village we extend a welcome
to you and hope you are finding Sanson a friendly place to live.
A special welcome to the Magaya family who originate from Zimbawe.
Kadzar Magaya has taken over the delivery of the Feilding Herald,
Tribune and the other fliers from Heather who has delivered them
for the last four years.
SANSON SCHOOL
Friends of the School has a raffle circulating at the moment. The
prize is a Play Station and a 14 inch T.V. and games. Only $2 per
ticket. The Raffle will be drawn on March 24th. Shortly children
will be around imploring you to buy Cadbury Moro bars and Caramello
and Dairy Milk Chocolate. Please support our children as they raise
money for classroom resources.
Dave and Lily Warren have retired from caretaking the school .They
have been doing this important job for 24 years and a very well
attended afternoon tea was held at the school last Friday to farewell
them. All the best in your retirement Lily and Dave!
SANSON COMMUNITY LIBRARY
We recently had our book change and there are still a number of
books from the previous consignment to be returned. On tidying up
my house I found a couple of books that I was sure had been returned
so we would encourage borrowers to have a look for these titles
which have gone missing. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone;
Crafty Kids; Sing Hey Diddle Diddle; Metro nui; Sensational Vegetable
Recipes.
Remember our photo-copying service at 10c per copy!
