PERSONAL ITEMS.
We were delighted to see local lass Emily Malone win outstanding
employee of the year in the recent Feilding business awards. Emily
works for Williams and Kettle and loves the variety that her work
gives her.
Also in the news is that very quiet lad Tim Jurgens who works
at Caltex. Tim has been taking part in his specialty of bike and
trials riding at the recent Mountain Biking World Championships
held in Roturua and is rated 23rd in the world in his event. Riders
from all over the world have hotly contested these events over
a very difficult course. Who would have guessed that Tim is the
New Zealand Number One?
Hearty congratulations to these young people!
As you may have noticed the SOLD sign is on Arie and Jan Nugteren’s
house in Dundas Rd. This home, which was lived in for many years
by the late Miss Tot A’Court has been for the last twenty-five
years the home of the Rawleigh Man and his Better Half. Arie and
Jan are moving on September 9th to Levin to be close to family
members and will be sorely missed by their many friends.
However we are pleased to announce that the Rawleigh
products will be available at the Sheepskin Shop from September
1st
We wish Arie and Jan all the best in their retirement.

One of our readers needs large plastic Marmite and Peanut butter
jars. If you can help these can be dropped off at the Library.

and their families on the sudden passing of their mother Mrs.

NEIGHBOURHOOD SUPPORT
Several of our residents have been victims of burglary etc. recently.
If you have been a victim contact the Bulls Police
on phone 3222020, do not think that your loss is too trivial
for them to deal with. Our local police can only investigate if
they are told. There have been several instances of petrol siphoning
also and this is a particularly mean theft in this day of high
fuel prices. And is it my imagination or are the daisies planted
in the traffic islands outside the Library disappearing? Perhaps
they have gone to the same place that the large square terracotta
tub containing a palm tree that disappeared from Phillips St has
gone. This would have required a strong man to uplift it. We have
been endeavoring to get the street support groups organized and
this requires cooperation from all of us.
