Sanson
Snippets

December
2007
This month the Snippets
comes to you courtesy of Rusty Blinkhorne who is the property
manager for Harcourts Real Estate. Landlords have your property
professionally managed and save your self all the worry of collecting
rent etc. Rusty also has a range of rental properties to let.
He can be contacted on phone 323 1088 or mobile 021 248 5010
SANSON SCHOOL
Only another couple of weeks before school breaks up for the long
summer holidays. Prizegiving in the Hall at 7pm onTuesday 18th
December and school closes the following day. The winner of the
Christmas raffle is C. Lawson with ticket number 136.
SANSON COMMUNITY
AND SCHOOL POOL
The pool is now open and if you wish to obtain an access card
for the season you need to go along to the school office before
school breaks up on December 19th. Cost is $62 for first timers
and $50 if you have had one in the past. Casual passes will be
available through the summer from Del on phone 329 3674 These
are $25 with the $20 being refunded on return of the pass. We
are looking into the feasibility of heating the pool so it can
be used all year and more about that next year.
SANSON COMMUNITY
HALL
The hall has been well used this year and we have been able to
make several improvements with the booking money. We are concerned
about vandalism and in the New Year we will be applying for funding
for C.C.T.V.cameras to protect the school, swimming pool, War
memorial and the hall. We already have a sum of money put aside
for this project.
If you want to make a booking phone 329 3674. Individual quotes
given.
CEMETERY RD. WALKING
TRACK
We are pleased to announce that with the money the community raised
and the Council's contribution there is enough money to do another
800 metres. This will take it to the bridge at the bottom of the
last hill so here's hoping that the tender will be let soon. It
has been several years since this project was started and we look
forward to its completion.
SANSON COMMUNITY

COMMISERATIONS
We send our sympathy
to Richard McAlister who had a nasty fall which landed him in
hospital for several days. Fortunately he was home in time to
celebrate a significant birthday. We hope to see you back walking
without the crutches again soon Richard!
We hear that there are several of our residents who are poorly
and we wish you all the best.
CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS.
You may have noticed that the Christmas lights and Banners have
been hung over the last few days. Unfortunately we unthinkingly
drew Father Christmas on a red banner so this year he is wearing
a powder blue suit. Noticed that Feilding have made the same mistake
but their Father Christmas has a green suit! We will be hanging
lights in several of the shops over the next few days and we hope
that residents will get into the Xmas spirit and light up their
homes again this year.
MISSING
One of our school children mislaid her mobile phone on the school
bus and would dearly love to get it back. It is a Samsung S C
H-531 Global roaming Telecom phone and when it has been rung it
has been answered by a young voice. A good reward is offered for
its return. Contact number 329 3746
SANSON COMMUNITY
COMMITTEE
At our last meeting we discussed the dangerous exit from the Shell
Station into Phillips St. We have requested a stop sign there
but have met with no success. There have been several near misses
with trucks. Our next meeting will be a social occasion for the
committee and we will get down to business again next February.

What a difference it has made to the centre with the new large
mobile recycling vehicle. The grounds stay so much tidier and
we have Daniel to thank for keeping the place clean. The ring
found there some time back has still not been claimed and if it
is yours you can have it back by describing it to Del who has
it is safe keeping.
THANKS!
Our Snippets team would like to thank all those of you who have
supported us this year. It has been wonderful and we have not
had to go looking for sponsors; they have come to us. We have
been donated photocopy paper by various people and we thank you
one and all. Several of our ex residents who like to know what
is going on in Sanson are on our mailing list and the Snippets
can also be viewed on David Pickles www.sanson.net.nz We intend
to give ourselves a holiday over the next few weeks and the next
Snippets will be printed in February. We wish you all a blessed
Christmas with family and friends!
Thats it for
this month!
