SANSON
SNIPPETS
JUNE 2007
This month the Snippets comes to
you courtesy of several residents who have donated money and an
especial thanks to Des Mudford of Agricultural Traders who has
given us a cheque for $100 being the $25 promised to us for each
water tank he sold to residents during March and April. We much
appreciate your support!
We have received donations towards
Neighbourhood Watch and these are much appreciated.
Also, many thanks to those of you
who have donated wool towards the blankets that we make for Operation
Cover-up. There are thousands of orphans in Romania and Moldova
and with their extremely cold winters the blankets are greatly
appreciated. Agents of Operation Cover-up personally distribute
them so we know that they are getting to those in need. I have
five completed blankets and enough wool for several more. I am
still happy to receive any that you may have surplus!
Only three weeks to the winter
solstice and what a marvelous stretch of weather we have been
having. Ive noticed the water tanker going up Cemetery Rd.
several times lately but no doubt soon we will be complaining
about the cold and wet.
CONDOLENCES
May has been a sad month for several of our residents in particular
the families of Norman Emslie and Bill Boyer who passed away on
the same day. These two ex servicemen had both reached a good
age with reasonable health until recently and will be very much
missed by their many friends and families. To Jessie Emslie and
her family and to Bills family we send our sympathy. Our
sympathy also goes to the friends and family of Anton Damora who
lost his life in a tragic accident at the young age of thirty-one.
David Pickles is at last at home
and making progress and his sense of humour is intact. He has
been missed on the www.sanson.net.nz
We are aware that there are several
of our readers both in the village and the outskirts who are not
very well at this time and we send you our best wishes. It is
a sad time for the family of Carol Swan who remains seriously
ill in Palmerston North Hospital.
