COMMUNITY LIBRARY
Thanks to those of you who came along to help with our recent
book change. We have a good range of Large Print books which are
so good for those of us with failing eyesight. Plenty of mysteries
and also lots of light reading too. We are having a holiday programme
from Monday July 5th through to Friday the 9th of July. Feilding
Library supplies all the material used and there is no charge.
Mothers or fathers are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
Internet is available and this is free unless you print something
off and then there is a charge of 15cents per page. We have available
lots of information sites not usually available to home computers.
Don't forget our photo copying service too.
Library Hours
Monday and Thursday 10am to midday. Tuesday and Friday 2pm to
4pm. Saturday 11am to 1pm.

SCHOOL
On Saturday night a very successful hangi was held at the community
hall and it was great to see so many residents turn out on such
a cold night for food and fellowship. This was a very enjoyable
evening and full marks to Diane and Tim and their many helpers
who put in the hard yards on a very wet day.
SANSON
COMMUNITY COMMITTEE
At our last meeting the Mayor Ian McKelvie spoke to us about the
possible boundary changes that may take place and also about the
shared services with other Councils. The subject of the Rats in
the village also came up for discussion and we agreed that the
Manawatu Standard went over the top with their headline to the
article in Wednesday's paper. We don't believe that the problem
is nearly as bad as depicted. I only got two responses to my request
for information about them from residents. The next meeting will
be held in the Library at 7 30pm on Wednesday July 28th All Welcome.
THE
SANSON CLUB INC

SUNDAY MARKET
Though the weather has been foul the last few weeks generally
the market has been a good fundraiser for the community with grants
going to several organizations. Bulls Fire Brigade has been allocated
money for smoke alarms in the village and they will be taking
that up in the near future. We have had issues with Council's
concerns re Health and Safety and have been informed that people
selling food must have the required paper work and must have had
it cooked in a registered kitchen This has caused a bit of a problem
to us and we will be enforcing these rules. We have also been
told that there must be no dogs at the market and actually there
is a no dogs policy in the business area of Dundas Rd. We hope
that residents will take note and help us comply with these rules
that are being enforced on us.
On a lighter note does it not amaze you how many wet Sundays we
have had and then on Monday it is fine again?
RECYCLING
CENTRE
PLEASE, PLEASE,
PLEASE, obey
the rules and don't leave your rubbish there. If your recycling
won't fit in the container come back later. The container is generally
emptied every Monday and again on Friday. If you are putting large
pieces of cardboard in, break it down. Thank you to Daniel who
on Monday morning was seen picking up and bagging all the rubbish
lying around and posting bottles that somebody had been too lazy
to post themselves.
